2023 International Womens Day

Once again for the 2nd year, i represented The Philippines during the International Womens Day celebration at the Embassy of India curated by Kulsom Kahkashan with our group #riyartisans

Various entertainments were shown on stage performed by different nations, an interview panel, motivational talks and a fashion show. The evening ended with certificates given to all participants with H.E. Dr.Suhail Ajaz Khan the Ambassador of India in KSA.

It was a priviledge to meet and chat with the Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Cosular Section, Mr. Rafael Andemahr Vallejo Bulnes of the Embassy of Peru. He took an interest with my painting LuzViMinda (he insisted to have our photo taken next to it afterall) the painting is a representation of the Filipino women in the 3 major group of islands (Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao) and of them wearing their traditional clothings. He asked about the tattoos on the women of the North and i told him about Wang Od.

Had a pleasure meeting the ladies from 2 other embassies as well, Jordan and Palestine. I didnt catch their names but one of them is the daughter of a great Palestinian artist, Fawzi Zakzouk

Singkil, my latest artwork, was also a favorite since i kept having asked how it was made.

Since i was representing my country, i wore earings and shoes from the Ilocos region and a necklace worn by T'boli women in the Southern Mindanao region and of course my PH flag pin.
